4 science bases in Guiyang awarded

The awards ceremony for Scientific Quality Improvement Demonstration Bases for key groups in Southwest China's Guizhou province was held in Guiyang on Dec 4.

Mingzhu Helping Aged Society, Guizhou Geely New Energy Automobile Co, Wengjing village, and Guiyang Primary School's science museum, which is affiliated to Beijing Normal University, were awarded the title.

The construction of these bases aims to promote science to young people, farmers, the elderly, industrial workers, leading cadres and civil servants.

After the awards ceremony, Guiyang and Guian New Area will vigorously implement key science promotion projects to ensure that by 2025, the proportion of residents with basic scientific knowledge or qualifications will be higher than the average target value of the province, western regions, or even the country, reaching the set goal of 16 percent.
