Gong Boxiang, senior engineer and chairman of Guizhou Xishan Technology Co in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was among the winners of the 23rd Guizhou Youth Medal on May 3.
In 2013, Gong studied at the School of Big Data and Information Engineering of Guizhou University for his postgraduate studies. In the same year, he built a team to participate in the first "Internet +" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for College Students in Guizhou and won the gold medal. In 2014, he participated in the Guizhou entrepreneurship competition and won silver. These strengthened his determination to put his entrepreneurial idea into practice.
In 2014, Gong founded Xishan company, which mainly provides solutions for AI-driven industries. After nearly 10 years of efforts, the company has developed into a national high-tech enterprise above designated size and a leading software demonstration enterprise in Guiyang. He led the company to obtain nearly 100 software copyrights.
With the strong support of government departments at all levels and Guizhou University, Gong led his team to build two business incubation platforms, helping college students start businesses.
His team also took the initiative to incubate the sci-tech achievements and services of start-ups in the Guizhou University Science Park. So far, his team has provided innovation and entrepreneurship services to more than 10,000 college students.
