Guiyang bureau invites experts to help industry development

To solve the bottleneck problems in the ecological fishery industry in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, the Guiyang bureau of science and technology invited a team of experts led by Li Chunrong, secretary of the Marine Sciences School's Party Committee at Sun Yat-sen University, to conduct research on sci-tech innovation in ecological fishery in the city on July 4.

During the symposium, the two sides exchanged views on how to promote the high-quality development of the fishery industry in Guiyang.

Sui Xin, deputy chief of the Talent Division of the Organization Department of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee, said he believed it is necessary to rely on the latest achievements in fish farming from Sun Yat-sen University, and to establish an ecological fishery innovation platform in Guiyang and Guian, with cold-water fish farming as the main driver.

After the symposium, Li and his team visited the breeding base of Xifeng County Shuizhiyuan Co, the Luojiazhai base of the Guizhou Modern Fishery Group, and the Guizhou Key Laboratory for Rare Animals and Economic Insects of the Mountains Region.

Li mentioned that Sun Yat-sen University's Marine Sciences School can utilize the technological innovation resources accumulated in the field of fish farming to collaborate with Guiyang in project cooperation, talent cultivation, and platform construction, in order to solve the difficulties in cold-water fish farming.

After the visit, the two sides signed further intentions to cooperate. They will continue to strengthen their cooperation to jointly promote the development of the ecological fishery industry in Guiyang and Guian New Area.
