The Guizhou Institute of Metallurgy and Chemical Engineering has cooperated with Guizhou Senyuan Additive Manufacturing Technology Co in Guiyang on commercializing research achievements for some years.
Since 2016, the institute, which is affiliated with the Guizhou Academy of Sciences, has been making strides in the field of 3D printing. The institute has overcome several bottlenecks for advanced polymer components manufacturing and obtained 10 invention patents thus far.
Additionally, the Guizhou Academy of Sciences is one of the construction authorities for the National Engineering Research Center for Polymer Complex Structure Additive Manufacturing. Affiliating to the academy and engaging in the field of 3D printing, the institute also co-constructs this center.
Gu Wenquan, director of the Guizhou Institute of Metallurgy and Chemical Engineering, stated that being selected as a co-constructer for this project highlights the academy's engineering level, as well as its research and development capabilities in the 3D printing industry.
"Through co-construction, we learn a lot of cutting-edge industry information, obtain authoritative academic guidance, improve our innovation capability, and broaden the channels for transforming achievements," said Wu Jian, deputy director of the Guizhou Institute of Metallurgy and Chemical Engineering.
