Registration for the inaugural Guiyang Big Data Sci-Tech Innovation City Innovation & Application Competition concluded on Dec 6. Of the 251 submitted projects, 216 were approved, including 28 from outside Guizhou and 188 from within the province. Nine of the approved projects were led by doctoral researchers.
The competition was launched on Nov 8 in Gui'an New Area. It aims to attract innovative projects from big data, software and information services, electronic information manufacturing, advanced equipment manufacturing, new energy vehicles, new materials, eco-friendly specialty foods, and health pharmaceuticals. It also seeks to promote innovation and entrepreneurship across key industrial sectors.
The collected projects cover various fields. These include 46 related to big data, such as software development and internet services; seven related to electronic information manufacturing; 21 related to artificial intelligence; 24 related to advanced equipment manufacturing; 10 related to new materials; three related to new energy vehicles; and 105 for other categories.
The finals are tentatively scheduled for late December. Based on the scores of the registration materials, 30 outstanding projects will be selected to compete. One first-place, two second-place, and three third-place prizes, as well as five excellence awards, will be awarded.
