Guiyang secures funding for 14 sci-tech innovation projects

The Guizhou Provincial Department of Science and Technology recently announced the first batch of 2025 projects funded by the Central Government's Local Science and Technology Development Fund. Fourteen projects from Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province received a combined funding of 47.8 million yuan ($6.5 million).

The Guizhou-Guangdong Industrial Design City Technology Innovation Service System Construction project in Guiyang's Yunyan district secured the highest funding.

The Central Government's Local Science and Technology Development Fund is a key national initiative that supports regional technological innovation by providing financial assistance and policy guidance. Its goal is to enhance local innovation capabilities and accelerate the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements.

During the application process, the Guiyang bureau of science and technology conducted in-depth research on the city's specific technological development needs. The bureau, aligning closely with national science and technology strategies, meticulously planned and prepared the project proposals.

The bureau also coordinated with various departments to improve project quality and secure greater policy support. It also invited renowned technical and financial experts to collaborate with local science and technology management teams, addressing talent, equipment, and infrastructure challenges.

A bureau representative stated that efforts will be made to ensure the effective utilization of project funds and the smooth transformation of sci-tech achievements.

Guiyang and Gui'an will continue to increase investment in innovation, optimize the technological ecosystem, and drive the two region's science and technology sectors to new heights.
