The 2025 Data Center and Intelligent Computing Industry High-Quality Development Conference commenced on July 17 in Gui'an New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province, gathering experts and enterprises to explore cutting-edge technologies in big data and AI. Coinciding with Guiyang's fifth Academic Season, the event highlighted the province's strategic role as China's first big data comprehensive pilot zone.
The conference featured keynote speeches on green data center development and industry-academia collaboration, alongside specialized forums on operations management and vocational education integration. It also highlighted Gui'an New Area's emergence as a key hub in the project that channels more computing resources from the eastern areas to the less developed western regions, with its growing data center clusters utilizing the area's natural advantages and supporting policies.
Outcomes included the release of data center operations engineer competency standards and the establishment of seven advanced regional intelligent computing partnerships. Jointly organized by national research institutions and tech leaders such as Huawei Cloud Computing Technology Co, the summit established Guizhou as a driving force in China's digital economy transformation.
