Three green data centers in Gui'an New Area – China Telecom Cloud Computing Guizhou Information Park A9 Data Center, State Power Investment Co (SPIC) Gui'an Data Center, and China Southern Power Grid Green Intelligent Data Center – made the list of "National Green Data Centers for 2025", which was recently announced by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission.

This demonstrates the leading strength of Gui'an New Area in green and intelligent construction of data centers, injecting strong impetus into the promotion of green and low-carbon development of the digital economy.

As the first data center to be launched and put into operation in Gui'an New Area, China Telecom Cloud Computing Guizhou Information Park has achieved a scale leap from six buildings to 15 buildings since its construction in 2013. Its intelligent computing capacity has grown from zero to 10,000 PFLops, and its power utilization efficiency (PUE) has dropped from 1.35 to below 1.2. It has won national honors in low-carbon development multiple times.

As the core support for the digital transformation of SPIC, SPIC Gui'an Data Center has passed the national A-level data center certification. The center started its first phase of construction in July 2022, passed acceptance in 2023, and completed the overall relocation of the Beijing data center in June 2024, marking the official completion of the digital base of SPIC. To date, the center has built 1,450 cabinets and installed more than 1,900 servers, with a storage capacity of 25PB.

The China Southern Power Grid Green Smart Data Center is the core network-level node of China Southern Power Grid's "3+1+X" data center layout. Covering an area of 133.8 mu (8.92 hectares), with a total investment of 1.45 billion yuan ($203.79 million), it will feature nearly 5,000 10-kW cabinets capable of accommodating 100,000 1U servers. The first phase of the project was completed and accepted at the end of May 2025, and 500 cabinets have since started trial operations.

As of June 2025, Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area has introduced a total of 26 large-scale and above data (computing power) centers, established the world's first big data exchange, and has a total computing power scale of over 100 EFlops, with intelligent computing accounting for over 98%. It has become one of the regions with the largest computing power scale and the strongest intelligent computing capability in China, as well as the first national big data and network security demonstration pilot city.
