The 2026 Youth Sci-Tech Talent Industry-Academia-Research Matchmaking Conference was held in Guiyang on July 16.

The event, co-organized by multiple scientific associations, the Guiyang Association for Science and Technology, and Guizhou Science Hub, served as a complementary activity to the 121st session of the Workshop for Young Science and Technology Talent, inviting 80 PhD candidates from universities and research institutions across the country to participate.

The event was structured into three segments: policy briefings, enterprise demand presentations, and on-site interactions. Guizhou Science Hub spans an area of 20.64 square kilometers and boasts 131 provincial-level and above innovation platforms, along with a workforce of 36,500 people.

Ranked 27th nationally among science parks in 2025, it identified 78 technical needs and nine high-level talent demands, encompassing electronic information, aerospace, and new materials. Prior to the conference, participants were matched to doctoral research areas to ensure precise alignment.

Shiji Hengtong Co, Guizhou Phosphate Chemical Group, and Yunnan Sunward Chemical Co presented their industrial innovation needs, engaging with PhD candidates on topics such as intelligent mining, deep mineral processing, and postdoctoral joint training. They also addressed queries regarding talent benefits, research support, and other related matters, with representatives from scientific societies calling on young researchers to align their work with practical industry requirements.
