Guizhou Power Grid Operation Co has deployed a comprehensive AI large-model monitoring system in Gui'an New Area in 2026, revolutionizing traditional manual inspection methods and enabling intelligent upgrades to transmission line maintenance.

The system achieves over 90 percent accuracy in identifying potential hazards and reduces response time for transmission corridor alerts by over 40 percent, easing the burden of manual reviews. It can also identify hazards such as wildfires, construction damage, and foreign objects on power lines within seconds, automatically locate risk points, and evaluate threat levels in a graded manner. During wind and flood prevention inspections in 2026, the system analyzed data from 17,000 terminals and nearly 150,000 images, identifying 1,117 hidden risks along power lines and mitigating power grid safety risks during the flood season.

With local power demand in Gui'an rising steadily, electricity consumption in the first half of 2026 reached 3.12 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 33.69 percent. Meanwhile, electricity consumption growth in the big data industry surged by 52.2 percent, and the area's power supply reliability rate reached 99.99 percent. The region is now advancing computing-power and energy-carbon synergy initiatives to establish a new model for power development.
